3 SUPER EASY HEALTHY SNACKS

Not all snacks are created equal, and today I’m sharing 3 of my favorite EASY, HEALTHY SNACKS that are not just kid-friendly, budget-friendly but are also meal-prep friendly so you can whip these up ahead of time.

If you know me, I love to snack. Snacking is as important as your next meal. It allows you to not just maintain a healthy blood sugar level (provided you go for the healthier snacks), it also helps you keep your energy levels in check and curbs cravings throughout the day.

TIPS ON HOW TO SNACK HEALTHY AT HOME:

CUT-UP FRESH FRUITS & VEGGIES – There’s no easier way to snack healthy than going for fresh, whole fruits & veggies. My favorites are apples + nut butter, or carrots + hummus. Grab here my homemade hummus recipe.

ADD WHOLE GRAINS AND NUTS – Whole nuts like almonds, walnuts, pecans, cashews, and macadami nuts are rich in essential fatty acids — omega 3s and omega 6s which are excellent for maintaining healthy cholesterol, boosting your skin health, joint health and brain health too. You can dry-toast them in a pan, or bake them for a homemade trail mix. TIP: Buy your nuts in bulk instead of the smaller packs for a lower price.

BAKE YOUR OWN GOODIES! – My little boy loves muffins and cookies but most often the ones in the grocery are packed with so much refined sugar and preservatives. I try instead to make homemade baked treats like my super-moist banana breads, lemon blueberry muffins, or these gluten-free almond butter cookies.

And here are more snack ideas for you! Watch below video to see how I make these 3 EASY HEALTHY SNACKS. Recipes are down below. Enjoy!
