This recipe came out from a failed almond butter attempt. I was making my usual stash of homemade almond butter but did it differently this time. The result was this crumbly nut butter which I tried to salvage by adding some coconut oil in it. It did look okay when left at room temperature but when I put it in the fridge, it came out very tough! So instead of throwing it out I thought why not make it into bliss balls!
Bliss balls or energy balls are these healthy, raw treats usually made from a combination of nuts, seeds, and whole foods such as coconut flour, cacao, and sweetened with natural sweeteners like pure honey, brown rice syrup, agave, and pure maple. They are ideal to satisfy your sweet cravings without the guilt! Adding a quality protein powder is optional but I recommend it so you get additional protein for every serving. It’s perfect for post-workout or just when you need a healthy treat!
And oh, did I mention that these are kid-friendly too? Now, go make them to snack on this week!
