If you have been following my Instagram, you would know by now that I’m a huge avocado fanatic. I can eat it every single day. Seriously. So whenever I come across a recipe that has avocado and chocolate in one phrase, then I’m all for it!
I’ve tried making this recipe a couple times with different iterations, and this by far is my most favorite. You can barely notice the avocado taste and would think it’s just pure chocolate in it. This decadent dessert is:
GLUTEN-FREE, RAW, EGG-FREE, REFINED SUGAR-FREE, RICH CHOCOLATEY, 100% WHOLESOME AND DELICIOUS
And best part is, you probably have most of these ingredients in your kitchen!

A FEW NOTES ABOUT THIS RECIPE:
USE RIPE AVOCADO. Pick ones that are really ripe as this gives your mousse a richer taste. Â
USE HIGH-QUALITY CACAO. Just like any other chocolate dessert, the higher the quality of your cacao or cocoa powder and the dark chocolate (at least 70%), the better. Raw cacao is the purest, unprocessed form of chocolate coming from cacao beans. It is rich in anti-oxidants and is known to increase mental energy, boost stamina, immunity, and also heart health.Â
STORAGE & CONSUMPTION. As this is made raw with no preservatives, it’s best consumed on the day or the morning after you made it. I find that if you store it longer in the fridge, the avocado gets bitter due to oxidation. I haven’t tried freezing it though. But if you do, you can perhaps defrost it in the fridge and consume right away once ready to eat.
INGREDIENTS
2 ripe avocados
3 tablespoons nut milk (I used unsweetened almond milk)
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (add less or more depending on preference)
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 tablespoons raw cacao or unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 cup dark chocolate (at least 70%), melted
METHOD
Put everything in a blender. Mix until smooth. Transfer to a bowl and whisk to incorporate more air and make it more fluffy.Â
Transfer into shallow glasses and chill to set. Top with shaved chocolate or sprinkle with cocoa powder right before serving.Â
